Responsibilities:

We have a compelling opportunity for a Technical Writer to support the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) in Linthicum, Maryland.  This position requires an active Secret security clearance. 

Responsibilities: 

Writes, formats, and edits contract deliverables and technical documents in support of the Peraton Program Management Office (PMO) and serves as the primary Quality Control (QC) point of contact for reviews. Material includes, but is not limited to, program plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in-depth presentations, periodic status reports, and meeting minutes. 

Assists PMO and technical team with tracking documentation delivery to government stakeholders. Maintains an accurate schedule and ensures timely submission to client portals. Develops documentation cataloging systems and maintains or archives records and files. 

Clearly communicates both in-depth technical detail and high-level program statuses and successes to a wide range of audiences. Translates complex data into user-friendly text for publications.  

Supports executive-level communications by sharing programmatic updates with a large audience. Assists the PMO by creating a variety of written employee engagement products including newsletters and email updates. 

Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing DC3 stakeholders, observing performance of mission execution methods, referring to technical specifications, engineering illustrations, and policy. 

Gathers information through research, statistical reports, and interviews with technical staff and maintains consistent communication with technical team leads 

Assists in organizing and preparing material for technical seminars and business forums. May assist in technical or business presentations in such meetings as business or customer needs require. 

Selects or recommends use of layouts, graphics, drawings, tables, exhibits, illustrations, charts, or storyboards to amplify or clarify publications objectives. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. Conducts quality review of materials. 

Gathers, analyzes, and reports metrics. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement. 

Executes additional writing and editing taskers as needed by the PMO to address government requirements. 

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: 

Associates degree and 7+ years of experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience; OR Master’s Degree and 3+ years of experience. Or 0 years with PhD. However, four (4) years of additional relevant experience or specialized training will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Excellent oral and written communications skills, paying close attention to details. Strong proofreading and editing skills. 

Ability to convey complex technical information such that information is easily understood. 

Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills. 

Fluency in technical and common office software. 

Experience with Federal and/or DoD documents and writing styles. 

Active Secret security clearance. 

Desired Qualifications: 

Experience with Federal, DoD, and/or DC3 policies and procedures. 

Knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and organizational security policies. 

Knowledge of risk management and mitigation processes.
