The Electric Boat test team located at the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) in Philadelphia PA is seeking a qualified leader to perform the duties of the Assistant Chief Test Engineer (ACTE). The ACTE will work directly with the CTF Chief Test Engineer (CTE) to directly aide in the discharge of their duties. In the absence of the CTE, the ACTE will act as the CTE on their behalf. The ACTE will perform the following responsibilities on a daily basis:
Act as direct supervision and daily tasker for the CTF EB watch team personnel
Create and distribute working schedule for test personnel
Plan, schedule, and coordinate CTF system operations and testing at the CTF as the CTE’s alternative Joint Test Group (JTG) representative
Coordinate CTF test procedure review, management, and issuance at the CTF along with other program documentation related to test
Ensure Test Engineer preparation for and conduct of CTF system operations and testing
Help coordinate problem resolution efforts with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) and other test support organizations.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Five years of experience in the Shipyard Test Organization or relevant Electric Boat shipyard experience. U.S. Navy Leadership experience will be accepted in lieu of shipyard experience.
Two years of supervisory experience
Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, other Engineering disciplines may be considered
Maritime Graduate
At least two years of experience as an Oversight or Shift Test Engineer is preferred.
Previous experience directing teams in a high intense test or production environment. Previous supervisor experience in a test facility is preferred.

Proven ability to work, think and act independently is required.
Proven ability to pro-actively determine and fix root causes of problems is required
The successful candidate must have proven experience as an effective communicator, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and must also be able to build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, including NSWC, NAVSEA, BMPC and senior Electric Boat leadership
The successful candidate must be familiar with submarine propulsion systems. Knowledge of the Columbia class components and system designs as well as the Philadelphia CTF is preferred.
Previous experience in the development of a ship test program, or similar, including the preparation, review and approval of test procedures, analysis, and other test control documentation is required.
