About the Team:

We are actively seeking a Sr. Device Program Manager, NPI. This position requires a candidate with exceptional knowledge and experience in Program Management for Hardware & Software product development across multiple platforms and product categories (TV, Soundbar & Acessories). Candidate must have a high level of experience and understanding of the product development lifecycle process with a strong focus in NPI Process management and Process implementation. This individual will take lead and work with all key cross-functional teams (Internally/Externally) involved in the NPI process within Hardware & Software development such as Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering, Industrial Design, Logistics, Legal, Sales, Support, Business Planning and Quality to help steer & navigate the teams through the Product Life Cycle phase gate process from product concept through mass production. This person must be highly organized, detailed-oriented and possess the right skill set to drive and implement NPI process to ensure a smooth handoff between the various disciplines for a successful NPI launch.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Program Management and provide support to the Program Management team.

What You Will Do:

Lead or support multiple complex Hardware & Software Projects / Initiatives under broad supervision for assigned TV & Audio categories across multiple vendors.

Strategize and develop plans that identify detailed program scope & schedules for all critical milestones with Product Marketing Management, Product Management, Legal, Engineering and Quality Assurance team members

Review Vendor & App Partner open issues, drive corrective action plans, coordinate SW release schedules and tracking SW sign off

Work with the Quality/Eng/Prod Mgmt teams on product issues and driving resolutions in a timely manner

Leads the cross-functional execution of hardware consumer products on time and overall company objectives

Execute with little instruction on day-to-day work

Collaborate with other Software Program Managers to plan, schedule and coordinate software platform development in sync with Hardware launch timelines

Generate detailed program development plans with cross-functional teams’ consensus that meet company objectives/commitments

Identify opportunities to improve NPI Development/Business processes or tools, Drive consensus around the need for change and lead cross-functional teams through new process implementation

Identify process bottlenecks and contribute to the solution of problems and challenges

Key role in the collection of and documentation of lessons learned opportunities and proactively define/establish the creation of future improvement processes

Develop and report performance metrics for continuous improvement

Lead training events related to process improvement, project management tool use and change, and the overall NPI process for new hires

Based on the established NPI schedule, strategize and develop plans that identify all risks and critical open issues in which ODM/SOC suppliers may run into. Highlight any dependencies which may need VIZIO US team’s support

Schedule, participate and chair program team weekly meetings with ODM/SOC suppliers to meet the overall NPI timeline include the VIZIO US team as needed

Participate in early morning (or) late evening meetings involving ODM/SOC suppliers as required

Work with the Quality/Eng/Prod Mgmt teams on product issues and driving resolutions in a timely manner, this includes both NPI and post-MP issues

On-site factory support maybe required to oversee critical process related issues

Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and mitigation plan

Ensure lessons-learned from predecessor programs are incorporated into new programs. Collaborate with Irvine PMO for continuous improvement to achieve tighter collaboration btw VIZIO and ODM/SOC suppliers

Identify NPI process improvement opportunities across teams, and drive improvement. Collaborate with Irvine PMO for continuous improvement to achieve tighter collaboration btw VIZIO and ODM/SOC suppliers

Set high standards for personal and team interaction. Facilitate the resolution of complex team issues, build consensus, maintain process focus, overcome barriers, encourage and inspire other team members and foster relationships with other team leaders

Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask

This position is an on-site role, based in our Irvine, CA office

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Passion and experience delivering high quality products. This PM will be instrumental in ensuring product success

10+ years of experience in electronics to end customers

Minimum 5 years of New Product Introduction (NPI) experience

Experience creating and cascading processes through an organization

Clear understanding on schedule deadlines and knowing when to incl. management team on critical issues

Proven track record of managing programs in high tech industry

Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Program management, driving and communication skills, effectively managing projects and working with global cross-functional teams

Ability to relentlessly track and follow-up on open issues and action items

Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment with a can-do attitude

Must be very good with logistics, planning, well organized, detailed, and resourceful

Self-starter with the ability to work through ambiguity and evolving requirements

Working with multiple program tasks, setting the right priorities, and understanding program needs

Fluent with using Jira issue-tracking software application

Fluent with team collaboration & testing software applications, such as Confluence, TestRail, Microsoft Teams and Slack

PMP Certification is highly desirable

Maintain a safe and clean working environment

Understand and follow company rules and regulations

Must be an excellent communicator (verbal and written)

Perform all other duties as assigned or required
