OVERVIEW ::

The Production Supervisor ensures that production of products meets or exceeds efficiency and company quality standards.  In addition, the Production Supervisor ensures that facilities and processes conform to established GMP standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::

Providing guidance and leadership to all department personnel on assigned shift.

Manage line efficiencies, key performance indicators and down time.

Monitors the production process, makes periodic checks and adjusts equipment or work practices according to standard operating procedures.

Ensures equipment in the area assigned is in working order and that working conditions are safe at all times.

Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up.

Manage overall product quality to ensure all standards and specifications.

Assisting employees with troubleshooting problems and coaching them through making the correct adjustments.

Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members.

Champion for company -wide safety programs and initiatives

Provides coaching, problem solving, and team building for department

REQUIREMENTS ::

High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years supervising production staff.

Basic computer and database application skills.

Familiarity with manufacturing systems.

Demonstrated leadership ability, and strong communication skills.

Ability to work within timelines and in pressure situations.

Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.

Schedule may include weekends.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree.

Food Manufacturing experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ::

While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, frequently lift material up to 50 pounds, with frequent twisting, turning, reaching, pushing and pulling use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.

Work Environment: 

Work is normally performed in a sub-zero freezer/warehouse/production environment.

As part of the job requirements, employee will be exposed to working in a warehouse setting with cold temperature (-20) at times.

Must be flexible with work schedule that supports a 24-hour production facility.
