Tri Pointe Assurance is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group as a Staff Accountant.
Position Highlights: The Staff Accountant will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and projects, gaining exposure to the month-end close cycle, audits, budgeting, and financial analysis
Position Responsibilities:
Prepare daily cash entries from multiple entities, including reconciling up to twenty-five bank accounts
Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including G/L and Job Cost
Create and/or modify standard reporting for Indirect Construction Costs, Warranty, and other cost and revenue categories
Reconcile various GL accounts monthly
Prepare various month-end and quarterly schedules including variance reports
Prepare schedules and pull documents for internal and external audits
Prepare variance analyses and other analytics to help drive business improvement
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes
Proactively identify and suggest process improvements
Assist various operational departments with budgets, coding questions, data analysis, and other projects are assigned
Actively participate in research and special/projects/requests as needed
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
Minimum of 3 years accounting/finance experience, preferably in the homebuilding industry
Experience with JD Edwards/E-1 preferred
Thorough understanding of accounting principles including General Ledger, Job Cost, and inter-company accounting required
Intermediate to advanced knowledge working with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines
Ability to take initiative and follow through to complete projects, either independently or working as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
