Position Overview:
Navistar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join our team at our Powertrain Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL!
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will be an integral part of the planning, development, and implementation of assembly equipment and processes to support the launch of a new powertrain platform.
Responsibilities:
Support Advanced Manufacturing Engineering in assembly layouts, equipment purchase, qualification, and installation
Act and represent Navistar in a global production team
Be the voice of production to product development
Perform research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly sequence, assembly methods and production equipment investments
Standardizes manufacturing processes by benchmarking other manufacturing facilities
Coordinate pre-series builds and production launch of the new product including establishing goals, training team member, and evaluate and act on results
Assist in the accomplishment of plant quality objectives
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
Master’s degree
At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing
Additional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills:
Proficient with electric torque controlled fastening tools
Proficient with press equipment and processes
Proficient with launching new products
Competence with launching new products in an existing production line
Competence with maintaining and follow up project budgets
Competence with developing and maintaining project timelines
Competence with Microsoft Office products
Experience with CAD and 3D modeling tools preferred Siemens NX
Experience with AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles)
Experience with presenting resolutions to quality issues
Experience with leak testing
Experience with Robotic Assembly systems
Ability, and willingness to lead and guide other professionals or colleagues
Ability, and willingness to learn from others
