Position Summary:

The Food Runner supports servers and serves as a liaison between the kitchen, servers, and guests. Ensures hot food is delivered hot and cold food is delivered cold to the appropriate server and/or guests. Provide garnish, presentation, and preparation assistance in the kitchen.

This role pays between 9-12 per hour

About the Venue:

PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown, PA and home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The arena seats more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey games, making it the region’s largest events venue.

The amenities-packed PPL Center hosts more than 150 events each year, offering something for everyone, including the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, live concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, high school and collegiate events, conferences, graduations, and so many more.

Chickie’s & Pete’s is a full-service bar and restaurant located within PPL Center, serving lunch Tuesday through Friday and open for events.

Responsibilities:

Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times

Deliver food from kitchen to appropriate server and assist server with delivery of food to guests

Work with expeditor to ensure efficient delivery of food based on restaurant layout

Perform food preparation duties when needed

Follow all Chickie’s & Pete’s service standards

Check food for quality and presentation before serving. All food should be presented according to menu builds

Ensure food is transported and handled in a sanitary manner

Deliver to-go orders to Host/Hostess stand for guest pick-up

Assist in bussing and cleaning responsibilities

Ensure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well-stocked

Respond appropriately to guest requests, comments and complaints and bring any issues to the attention of management

Complete beginning, change, and end of shift duties

Work efficiently and with a sense of urgency

Provide garnish for specified menu items according to Menu Build

Assist in keeping work areas clean

Attend all scheduled employee meetings

Additional tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Must be 16 or over

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers and guests

Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays, and long hours

Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time
