The Grapple driver is responsible for transporting waste and mixed materials while operating a Grapple truck.

Responsibilities:

Safely operate a Grapple truck along assigned routes to customers and disposal sites

Safely deliver, transport and/or unload container with materials at designated locations/dump site

Operate electronic devices to log/report information

Communicate with dispatch personnel

Report delays due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdowns to management

Secure the container in place before departure and monitoring its safe distribution throughout the trip

Keep truck and associated equipment, clean, safe and in good working order

Perform truck and container inspections pre and post trip

Service customer container needs

Safely operate all vehicle controls for lifting and loading

Safely operate compacters to dispose of material

Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations

Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Required education and experience

Valid Class B Commercial Drivers license

Two years’ experience safely operating Grapple truck preferred 

Preferred education and experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Bilingual (Spanish or Creole)

• Waste industry experience 

Work environment and hours

Shifts may vary Monday-Saturday

40+ hours a week

Work sites with dust and debris
