Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.

Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Data Centre Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Data Centre Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Data Centre Engineer, will be responsible for:

* Review and manage any remedial tasks identified by the PPM's

* Deal with reactive calls and ensure they are delivered in line with the SLA's

* Review data to identify strengths and weakness in the service delivery. Implement improvements and suggest solutions wherever possible.

* Adopt and foster a one-team approach by liaising with the service delivery teams, subject matter experts, the management team and other supervisors to ensure the whole team, including that of your own, complete and achieve KPIs and SLAs.

* Monitor and manage the use of handheld technology (PDA) by encouraging usage in real-time with clear accurate notes.

* Inform the asset and commercial team when equipment is replaced as part of Life Cycle or Small Works Programme for the region.

* Identify assets, tasks or frequencies which are not aligned and advise accordingly

* Maintain relationships with key subcontractors and manage their work on site

* Participate in the Health and Safety guidelines of the Company and report to Management and QSHE regarding any dangers; hazards or other defects/issues that may be encountered.

* Establish excellent working relationships with the client in order to be recognised as a key contact and a trusted partner

* Identify business opportunities and develop these with the customer and the business

* Carry out regular site audits and provide regular on-site support to the team as required.

* Provide your team with the training, support, guidance and tools to enable them to ensure the Technicians are using correct methods and procedures, including Health and Safety requirements.

* Carry out tool box talks and identify training required

* Effectively manage your team. Hold informal and formal meetings and gather feedback. Identify and deal with poor performance

To be successful for this Data Centre Engineer role you must have:

* Recognised electrical qualifications:

* Previous or current HV AP qualification - is essential.

* Electrical Apprenticeship, 18th edition IEE, C&G 2391

* Proven track record in delivering engineering solutions in a critical environment

* Detailed operational understanding of facilities maintenance, soft services, hard services, and building services within a business critical environment. Experience of planning and delivering PPM and reactive word

* Proven track record in successful people management including performance management and familiarity with operational HR process and procedure.

* Extensive experience in managing a large multi-disciplined workforce.

* Valid formal Health & Safety qualification e.g. IOSH (1 or 5 day).

* Excellent IT skills

* Wide breadth of knowledge on mechanical electrical systems and building fabric repairs.
