Seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work under a tier one civil engineering contractor on a high-profile utilities/water project based in Hertfordshire.
About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
The successful candidate will support the commercial team on a major utilities project, focusing on water infrastructure in Hertfordshire. You will be involved in cost management, procurement, and contractual management, while working closely with the project and site teams to ensure smooth financial operation throughout the project's life cycle.
Responsibilities for Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
Assist with the preparation of valuations and financial reports.
Support in managing subcontractor accounts, including variations and final accounts.
Help with forecasting and budgeting throughout the project duration.
Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Provide assistance in pricing and negotiating contract changes.
Attend site meetings and liaise with various teams to maintain project progression.
Requirements for Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in utilities is preferable but not required
Strong numerical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Enthusiasm to learn and develop within a fast-paced working environment.
