Overview:
LAC Federal is looking for dedicated and detail-oriented Library Technicians to support our mission of providing exceptional library services. In this role, you will contribute to the organization, maintenance, and curation of collection materials in a dynamic environment, ensuring that information is accessible and well-preserved for our patrons.
Hybrid position - (2-3 days onsite; working hours 8:45am-5:15pm Monday-Friday)
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the cataloging and classification of library materials
Perform quality checks and maintenance on physical collections to ensure materials are in good condition
Manage the organization and shelving of books and resources according to established library standards
Support digitization efforts by preparing materials for scanning and maintaining accurate metadata
Engage with patrons to assist with inquiries and promote library resources
Collaborate with team members on special projects related to collection development and customer service
Requirements
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a library or information management environment
Familiarity with integrated library systems (ILS) and cataloging practices
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and library patrons
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all tasks
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with library work
Experience with digital resources, scanning equipment, and basic computer applications a plus
