Start Date: October half term
Salary: £83.33 – 90.00 per day

GSL Education are seeking special needs teaching assistants to support young people with a diverse range of additional needs. To be considered for this position, experience and knowledge of special educational needs is essential.

The role of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant will include, but not be limited to:

Preparing earning materials and adapt lesson plans from the class teacher, to effectively support individual student's needs.
Looking after children and young people’s physical, social and emotional welfare and wellbeing.
Coming up with engaging and creative ways to interact with the young people you are supporting.
Working alongside other professionals such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
At times, delivering personal care to young people you are supporting.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant with GSL Education, you should have:

At least 6 months experience in an educational or health care setting.
Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or physical disabilities.
The willingness to provide personal care when needed.
A passion and dedication to supporting people with additional needs, to be able to live as independently as possible.
A relevant qualification at Level 2 or higher, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
