Due to continuous growth and expansion Forte Recruitment have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experience Maintenance Manager working for our client based in Newbury.

We are looking to fulfil this role on behalf of a well-established company that was founded over 35 years ago. Our client operates within a very specialised & niche market, supplying services to the private and commercial sectors.
About the job role:
Within this role the successful Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the overall day to day management & safety of their team, building, equipment and premises, which includes; task and people management, budget control, maintenance and service delivery.
As Maintenance Manager your role will be central to ensuring the efficiency and dependability of the sites facilities & operations. This role demands a high level of managerial capability, creativity, resourcefulness, problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills, leadership and organisational abilities.
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per year, plus over time
Highly competitive salary on offer – negotiable depending upon experience.
Hours:
The successful Maintenance Manager will be working 7am to 5pm Monday – Friday, and 7am to 11am on Saturday’s.
Please be advised, some flexibility will be required - You may be called upon outside of operational hours for emergencies and/or repairs.
Key duties required:
For the successful Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the following:-
- Working pro-actively and efficiently to ensure the facilities, equipment, and premises are safe & serviceable at all times.
- Managing a small team to ensure all planned maintenance and breakdowns are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
- Review team’s working practices, covering; fault finding, diagnostic, re-active and scheduled maintenance across all sites.
- Carrying out planned & preventative maintenance of machinery & equipment.
- Ensuring projects & repairs are completed quickly, efficiently & to budget.
- Following process documentation and company guidelines.
- Administering & managing all equipment and systems maintenance & service contracts.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly inspection checks to be undertaken of the equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and production schedules.
- Monitoring all health and safety aspects of the machinery and equipment in co-ordination with the health and safety manager.
- Purchasing materials and parts as quickly and economically as possible, whist working within budget allowances.
- Co-ordination and management of your small team, including; sickness, annual leave, reviews, appraisal meetings and one to ones.
- Carrying out physically demanding duties, such as, plant equipment, vehicles and machinery repairs.
- Co-ordinate with various departments to ensure smooth operation.
- Handle emergency situations promptly and efficiently.
- Co-ordinate and plan various installations and required maintenance.
- Carrying out planned maintenance tasks, including analysis and forecasting.
- Work as part of a team and ‘muck in’ in as required.
Key Skills required:
The successful Maintenance Manager would need to have the following skills:-
- Proven track record in a maintenance management or a closely related role.
- Previous heavy plant, mechanical & electric experience – Essential.
- Experience repairing and maintaining industrial machinery – Essential.
- Excellent welding skills – Essential.
- Background in vehicle maintenance – Preferred, but not essential.
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Able to handle emergencies and stressful situations calmly, confidently and effectively.
- Evidence of managing a team and co-ordinating workloads
- Able to work on own initiative.
- Highly organised and methodical.
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent communicator, critical thinker & problem solver.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as and when require.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Able work to highest standards.
- Flexible, can-do attitude, and happy to undertake other duties as and when required.
- Team Player, who works well with colleagues and management team alike.
- Dedicated and committed.
