Assistant Planner to Associate Town Planner

Location: Bristol
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Role

My client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Planner through to Associate Town Planner to join the Bristol office. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to progress their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

You will be involved in a broad range of planning projects such as residential, Energy, commercial and leisure schemes with a wide ranging portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and representations
Supporting or leading on the management of planning projects from inception to completion
Engaging with local planning authorities, stakeholders, and clients to facilitate project progress
Conducting site appraisals, research, and analysis of planning policies
Assisting in the preparation of development plans and proposals
Attending public consultations and stakeholder meetings
Working collaboratively within the team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Staying updated with changes in legislation and planning policyQualifications and Experience:

Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited or equivalent)
Working towards or achieving MRTPI membership
Relevant experience in planning, ideally within consultancy or local authority (varying depending on the level of role from Assistant to Associate)
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and legislation
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
Good report writing and presentation skills
