LOCATION: Tonbridge, Kent
SALARY: £30,000 - £40,000

THE JOB
The client is looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated Construction Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. As Buyer you will be involved in all aspects of a building project from pre-construction through to construction. As Buyer you will negotiate costs, meet/assess sub-contractors and suppliers whilst organising the materials and labour required for each project.
Your main duties will include
* Source and procure materials, plant, and subcontractor services for construction projects.
* Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project schedules.
* Evaluate supplier performance and seek opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
* Assist in resolving any supply chain issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
* Maintain and update procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Previous experience in a buyer position preferably within the construction industry.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
