Our client is an established manufacturer of automated machinery and due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer.
The Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer will provide plc programming and machine installation and commissioning support for the company. It's a hybrid role 40% based in the office 60% at customer sites.
The Role:
Reporting to the Technical Director the Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer will be responsible for programming and integration of plc control systems for range of robotic machinery.
Duties will include but is not limited to the following;
Plc programming and develop new software controls
Upgrade and modify existing control systems in accordance with specification
Assist with on-site installations and commissioning
Provide remote and onsite technical support for customers and field engineers
Undertake project work as and when requiredCandidate:
The Electrical Controls and Automation Engineer will have excellent PLC programming skills applicants with experience with Beckhoff controls will be advantageous.
You will have good knowledge and understanding of robotic machinery and applicants with KUKA controls experience will be beneficial.
You will have at least two years experience in a similar role and ideally you will have a good knowledge and understanding of automated packaging and robotic machinery.
You will have a recognised electrical engineering qualification e.g. HNC / HND
You will be happy to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home on a frequent basis.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday 40 hrs
