A subsidiary of a large defence contractor is seeking a couple of HGV Mechanics to ensure heavy equipment and vehicles are inspected, serviced and maintained. The HGV Mechanic will need to be level 3 qualified in vehicle mechanics, have previous experience in HGV engineering, and worked in a military environment. The HGV Mechanic must be eligible to become a sponsored reservist.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections, servicing, and maintenance of HGVs to ensure they are roadworthy, including oil changes, brake checks, and tire replacements
* Use diagnostic equipment and tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles
* Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, exhausts, and other critical components of HGVs.
* Identify faults and damage using computerized diagnostic equipment, visual inspections, and test drives
* Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with health and safety regulations, as well as manufacturer specifications and legal standards
* Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used, repairs made, and time spent on each vehicle
* Keep workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic machines in good working order, performing routine checks and maintenance
Knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Essential:
* Minimum C&G level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Engineering or similar
* Is experienced in HGV mechanic engineering
* Flexibility to travel (uplift in salary)
* Will need to be eligible to become a sponsored reservist
Salary: £47,000 starting but rises to £52k as a Reservist + overtime
