Key responsibilities will include:
Work to a high standard to undertake inspections, services, and repairs of our fleet of HGV vehicles and other company vehicles.
Ability to follow planned work schedules and use strong communication and teamwork skills with the transport administration function to ensure that the requirements of the company ‘O Licence’ are met.
Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs of various pieces of plant and machinery as required.
Ability to work independently on routine servicing and site breakdowns ensuring that work is controlled and carried out efficiently.
· Meet deadlines as required.
· Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults within the fleet when they arise.
· Compliance with company health and safety policies and guidance documentation
· Assisting with MOT preparation and inspections when needed.
· Carry out any other reasonable task which may arise from time to time according to the needs of the workshop.
Essential requirements:
· Qualified HGV Mechanic
· Previous experience in a workshop environment
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable requirements:
· HGV licence
· Working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
· Working knowledge of vehicle inspection standards and scheduled maintenance requirements
Key skills:
* Ability to work well and safely in a team
* Strong communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.
Hours & Pay:
· Monday – Friday 8-5pm + some overtime opportunities, Saturday 8-12 (overtime)
