Plan and teach inspirational, specialist and highly differentiated lessons to SEND classes.

● Makeaccurate and productive use of assessment, to promote at least expected pupil (academic) progress and emotional development, including the use of Boxall Profiles each term.

● Provide a stimulating, nurturing and well-structured learning environment suitable for pupils with special educational needs.

● Championthe needs of pupils in your SEND classes across the wider school and with their mainstream class teachers.

● Developabespoke, topic-based curriculum using primary principles, which both meets the academic, special and personal development/social needs of pupils and provides support with numeracy and literacy.

● Playafull and active role in the development of the school including department and whole school development/improvement, aware of and implementing national developments in best practice.

● Engageproactively with the school’s performance development and review and supervision processes.

● Participate in, and take responsibility for, your continuing personal professional development

Support the school through developing a consistent approach to behaviour management, teaching and learning, marking, assessment etc. following relevant school policies.

● Checkpupils' attendance and punctuality at each lesson, reporting absences and lateness promptly.

● Promotepupil progress through the effective deployment and coordination of support staff including HLTAs, TAs and specialists from external agencies.

● Developsystems to record, share and evaluate the work of external specialists (e.g. SaLT or C&I workers).

● Support the SENCo/Assistant SENCo in the production and review of EHC Plans, and for pupils at SEN School Support.

● Deliver 1:1 or small group tuition to pupils, as identified by the SENCo/Assistant SENCo, who need further support but may not be in the timetabled SEND lessons
