A Financial Controller is required by a fast-growing construction & engineering business who are delivering complex solutions to solve key environmental problems. They are a recent entrant to the UK market and have already won several key long-term contracts, each of which offers them the chance to bid for additional work. With UK turnover already >£50m, they're poised to increase this rapidly and hence this is an ideal time to join.
The Financial Controller is a newly created role and will report into the Finance Director (FD) whilst working closely with the Director of Operations. The Financial Controller will support the profitable business growth plan of the UK business along with the FD. Specific responsibilities include:
Deliver accurate / timely monthly management accounts to meet local & group timeframes.
Support the FD in creating and maintaining trading models / forecasts of the business to enable SLT to accurately predict periodic & full year results based on trading performance.
Connect key operational metrics of the business such as sales growth, project profitability, capital investment appraisal and new project strategies etc.
Participate in driving all aspects of cost management; set detailed budgets for SLT leaders and their teams, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and introduce efficiencies.
Manage all aspects of UK cash flow management; drive the capital investment strategy.
Deliver annual statutory accounts; managing relationships with banks, auditors, advisors etc.
Ensure the correct processes are in place across Corporation Tax, VAT, CIS, Payroll etc.
The successful candidates for the position of Financial Controller will:
Be a qualified accountant with relevant PQE and an accounting & commercial background.
Have prior experience as a Financial Controller (or similar), ideally in a related sector that relies on project accounting (e.g. construction, advertising, engineering, prof services etc).
Enjoy working with an Operations team who are keen to grow and improve how they work.
Be comfortable working with immature processes & controls but in the knowledge that they will be required to design, embed & own workable solutions.
Desire a fast-moving environment but one that has real growth potential.
Salary: £80000 - £90000 + 10% bonus + bens
