Madisons Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Key Account Executive on behalf of our client, one of the leading importers and distributers of food.
As a Key Account Executive, you will be responsible for acting as a business contact for all major retail (Supermarket) accounts; developing key accounts and maintaining long term relationships; satisfying the requests made by customers related to invoices, purchase orders, and other documents; handling queries from customers; tracking customer orders and responding to requests; coordinating with logistics and marketing division.
Responsibilities:
Support the Sales Director by researching accounts and generating sales leads for the company brand to open new listings across primarily retail grocers as well as develop other sales channels such as foodservice and catering
Support the Sales Director with the design product and business presentations to present to the major retailers Buying Team
Identify and develop key customer contacts
Booking in appointments with supermarket buyers/head office teams
Build strong relationships with clients to maintain business and to acquire new customers.
Manage the day-to-day relationship and contact with the retail buying teams
Provide promotional support for the key accounts
Liaise with Supply Chain, Warehouse, logistics and the Customer to secure well executed instore Promotions and availability
Deliver agreed monthly and three-monthly business sales forecasts
Provide appropriate customer support in relation to new product launches- new line information, product codes, pack samples/mock-ups
Resolve complaints and keep track of all processes pertaining to every client account.
Act as the client’s representative in the organisation to facilitate the best customer service for each client.
Collect and analyse data about consumer behaviour to understand trend changes in clients’ needs.
Administration for the key accounts, for example new line forms and updating and reviewing the EDI systems
Requirements:
Knowledge and experience of using EDI supermarket system
Previous experience and knowledge of key account management within the major retail supermarkets
Experience with liaising with supermarket buyers’ & good communication skills essential
An up to date understanding of consumer behaviour in their industry
Commercial and business planning /forecasting experience
Product knowledge awareness
Outstanding problem-solving skills to address clients’ complaints or needs
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to deal with different clients and departments in the organisation
Analytical skills for analysing clients’ data
Multitasking and time management skills to manage multiple clients and tasks at the same time
Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
