Involve Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd are working with a small to medium size manufacturing company to recruit for a Senior IT Technician - this role is apart of succession planning and the plan is within the next 18 months to 2 years this role will replace the IT Manager!!
* Salary - £28,000 to £30,000
* Working hours – standard is Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5pm and Friday is 8:30pm to 4:30pm HOWEVER the IT Manager is flexible and happy to accommodate any start from 7am
* 28 days holidays, pension plan and career progression
This role will be mentored by the IT Manager so the ideal candidate will be looking to grow into a IT Manager role, have experience dealing with user support / Helpdesk as well as manage 2 networks.
Daily duties:
* Ensure that all systems and infrastructure are operational and stable to meet needs
* Train, develop and provide escalated support to the IT Services Technician to develop their skills and knowledge
* Monitor helpdesk calls to ensure service requests are met where appropriate
* Monitor and contribute to the maintenance plan for the IT infrastructure and systems.
* Maintain all aspects of the company’s IT Systems and network technologies including but not limited to Active Directory, HyperV, VmWare, and Microsoft Cloud ensuring work is carried out with minimal disruption and that the availability, and security of data and IT services are maintained.
* Contribute to regular progress reports to the IT Manager to highlight potential issues
* Maintain and keep up to date the workstation, software and device inventory
* Support the company’s SAP B1 systems
* Monitor site backups, scheduling regular checks on the integrity of the data and procedures,
* Ensure software deployments are planned, licensed and tested.
* Ensure clear change management records are kept up to date of any changes being made.
Previous Experience is essential – ideally the right candidate is ready to grow into a IT Manager’s role.
