ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Our client is a leading national highways maintenance contractor, dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety across the UK's road network. Job Description: They are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the financial management of their highway maintenance projects, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgets. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and develop your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare cost estimates and budgets for highway maintenance projects.
Monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure accurate cost reporting.
Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including reviewing and approving invoices.
Assist in the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
Provide financial advice and support to project managers and other stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
