Flux Consulting have partnered with a leading construction consultancy based in Cambridge. They deliver high-quality projects across a diverse range of sectors, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will support the Senior Quantity Surveyors in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some experience in quantity surveying to develop their skills and progress their career within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tenders.
* Support the measurement and valuation of works in progress.
* Assist in the preparation and analysis of project cost reports.
* Participate in the procurement process, including the preparation of contract documents.
* Help manage subcontractor accounts, including payment applications and variations.
* Assist with cost control and value engineering exercises.
* Conduct site visits and assessments to ensure project progress aligns with plans.
* Collaborate with project teams to provide financial and contractual advice.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Some experience in a quantity surveying role is desirable but not essential.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
