Mencap's Inclusive Communities Team provide supported employment programmes for people with a learning disability. Our Employ Me Schools Programme is a funded project that supports SEND learners to explore the world of work through access to employability skills workshops and work experience.
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and self-motivated person to join us as an Employ Me Caseworker to deliver a schools programme in the London Borough of Camden. This role is full time (37.5 hours per week) contracted until the end of July 2025.
Our Employ Me programme offers a wide range of benefits to young people with a learning disability that we support to:
Raise aspirations.
Build skills and confidence.
Have a better understanding of employment.
Show employers what they can do.
Progress towards paid work.We are looking for individuals who can work on their own initiative, have good communication skills, interpersonal skills and be approachable across all levels.
The successful person will directly support young people with a learning disability, autism and special educational needs (SEND) in education settings, delivering work experience and employability skills sessions.
You will work collaboratively with schools to identify learners to take part in our schools programme, providing work experience opportunities with local employers through employer engagement activities and delivering employability skills workshops . In this role you will build positive relationships with schools and employers to support the ongoing delivery of the Employ Me Schools programme.
