Hours: 22:00-06:00 (Sunday) 22:30-06:00 (Mon-Thu)

Role Summary
In this role as a CNC machinist, you will be responsible for ensuring the trimming of product in line with local manufacturing instruction. This role involves preparing, loading and machining of composite components. Using semi and fully automated systems operating 5-axis machining centres. Working in line with the daily production plan. Maintaining equipment, supporting the in/outflow through the process. As part of the trim team you will play a key role in supporting the successful execution of the composite's delivery plan.

Essential Responsibilities

EHS - Promote a safe workplace environment without risk to health and minimising the impact to the environment. Ensure that all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and that all accidents and incidents are reported
Clocking and Booking - Ensure that all required clockings (time and attendance) and bookings (job costings) are made in an accurate and timely manner
Housekeeping - Ensure that workstations are kept clean and maintained, with all tools and equipment stored correctly. Uphold a clear desk policy
Quality - Ensure that all Quality standards, processes and procedures are complied with. All work is completed with care and attention minimising wastage
Cost Management - Support cost reduction and management initiatives through reducing unnecessary expenditure
Knowledge & Skills - Keep knowledge and training up to date for necessary operations to the best of your knowledge and belief to achieve specification and acceptable standards for your role. For example, Approved Operator (AO) stamp(s) to be kept up to date
Team Working - Must actively participate in team meetings and be prepared to share knowledge, coach and mentor trainees when required, be willing to be trained in other areas
Any other reasonable duties that fall in line with the level of the role
Role Specific
Will include but is not limited to:

Setting and operating a variety of multi-axis CNC machines to local instructions
Loading and unloading of NC machines using a variety of lifting systems
Performing and recording SPC data to support continuous improvement activities
Delivering tooling to manufacturing stations using a variety of forklift systems
Monitoring and verifying NC cycles to customer drawing requirements
Operation and fault finding of the automated building management systems
Performing preventative maintenance of equipment
Supporting pre and post trim stages in the composite value stream
Requirements

NVQ Level 3, equivalent or working towards equivalent qualification
Proven experience of setting and operating multi axis CNC machines; however, training will be provided specific to the machining of composites and the control systems used on the machines
A good knowledge of tool setting.
Must be able check their own work using standard dimensional checking equipment
Good level of dexterity
Competent in numeracy and literacy, computer use and able to read and understand technical documentation
Good knowledge of health and safety
Good communication skills
Drive to succeed as an individual and as part of a team
Positive approach to problem solving
Participating in training programmes and procedures
Willing to learn and adapt with a strong focus on flexibility
Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
Excellent time keeping

Previous composite experience
Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Please note that if BPSS clearance cannot be obtained, you may not be eligible for the role and/or any offer of employment may be withdrawn on grounds of national security.
