Tay Recruitment are looking to recruit a Project Estimator to join a dynamic and fast-paced team, responsible for delivering a complete sales and customer service experience from start to finish.

You should have experience in reading site plans and technical drawings. You will be responsible for responding to customer enquiries and providing timely, accurate quotations. Building strong customer relationships by offering technical solutions and ensuring high levels of customer service will also be key aspects of the role.

Project Estimator - The Role

Working as part of a small team in a Newport based Engineering and Fabrication company, the successful candidate will be trained to compile estimates of costs to complete projects/jobs for our customers across a variety of sectors including private residential customers, large national industrial companies and local small businesses.

The Position

* Respond promptly to customer enquiries via phone, email, website, and trade counter

* Extract product requirements from customer drawings and site plans

* Attend customer meetings and site visits as necessary

* Provide costed estimates for bespoke products

* Offer competitive pricing while maintaining strong profit margins

* Follow up on quotations, reporting on outcomes and customer feedback

* Maintain an organized electronic filing system with customer drawings, quotations, build schedules, and correspondence

* Identify market and product opportunities, presenting findings to management

* Support marketing efforts and contribute to technical updates on the company’s website and social media platforms

* Comply with all company policies, procedures, and processes

* Assist in the overall smooth operation and continuous improvement of the company

The Person

* Experience in a similar role is essential

* Strong sales and customer service skills are required

* Confident phone manner and excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads efficiently

* Problem-solving abilities are crucial

* Familiarity with the housebuilding or construction industry is preferred
