Position Overview:
As Depot Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring that all aspects of the business are run efficiently. This includes managing staff, optimising operations, maintaining high levels of customer service, and ensuring all safety regulations are followed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management, ideally within the plant machinery or construction equipment industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the depot’s operational activities, ensuring the efficient use of resources
Manage and motivate a team of service engineers, sales staff, and administrative personnel
Ensure the depot meets its sales, rental, and service targets
Oversee stock levels and ensure equipment availability for customers
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
Monitor financial performance and prepare reports for senior management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Depot Manager or in a similar operational role
Strong knowledge of plant machinery, construction equipment, or heavy vehicles
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets
Commitment to safety and operational excellence
