Dunbar Education is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist setting in Wolverhampton. This role requires someone with hands-on experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and Autism.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism, helping them to engage with learning and school life.
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive, supportive environment.
Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of each child.
Support children in overcoming barriers to learning, including emotional regulation and social interaction.
Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and academic growth.
Assist in classroom management and maintain a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements:
Proven experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism in an educational or specialist setting.
A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to support diverse needs.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to promoting the well-being and academic success of students.
Desirable Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or related fields.
Experience working in a specialist SEN setting.
Training in de-escalation techniques or emotional regulation would be advantageous.
