Client: My client has established themselves as one of the UK’s premier M&E contractors. Following their formation almost 75 years ago, they have grown their turnover to over £200m per annum. The business boasts an envious track record of delivering some of the UK’s and London’s landmark projects. Typically the specialise in major shell and core projects in sectors such as; commercial offices, healthcare, pharmaceutical and education. Despite their size, this Tier 1 M&E Contractor has fantastic staff retention rates with a reputation for looking after their staff. They offer excellent exposure and internal training schemes with a hands-on approach to developing their staff.

Position: Mechanical Project Engineer

Experience: Managing all progress and compliance aspects of the Mechanical installation on the project. Liaison and management of all Mechanical construction and commissioning activities. A proactive approach with the ability to work without supervision, take ownership and accountability. A positive “can do” attitude. Management of appointed Construction and Site Managers.

Role/Responsibilities:

* Ensuring that the technical issues are resolved without delay.

* Process internal procurement from equipment enquires though requisitioning and monitoring manufacture through to delivery to site whilst maintaining a comprehensive audit train

* Attend and record regular supply chain meetings to ensure that progress is monitored and maintained within the overall construction programme.

* Prepare risk assessments, method statements and all aspects relating to Health and Safety on site.

* Liaise with the design team and supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site and successful handover.

* Monitor and record progress on site against the construction programme.

* Ensure that the Health and Safety, Environment and quality procedures are followed and adequate records maintained.

* Develop the project specific qualify plan.

* Undertake regular meetings with the supply chain to maintain progress and to ensure resources are matched to the construction programme.

* To liaise with the project manager and prepare the project close out report.

* Review with the project manager the allocation of resources and to review progress.

* Review and ensure that the site-based personnel have the correct training and valid certificate for the project.

The ideal candidate:

* Experience managing projects to a minimum of £10m M&E value

* Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Multiplex, Mace, Lend Lease and Kier.

* The candidate will show longevity in previous employment

* Must be technically astute and a good people manager
