About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking design team. The role involves working closely with Software Engineers, Electrical Engineers, and Technicians to deliver a range of projects, from simple fixtures to fully automated measurement systems. You will be involved in every stage of the design process, from initial concept through to testing and delivery, ensuring that solutions meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design of Gauges, Fixtures, and Systems tailored to customer needs.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to take projects from concept to completion.
* Interpret customer requirements and translate them into innovative design solutions.
* Conduct critical reviews of designs within the team to ensure robustness and quality.
* Develop 3D models of concepts and detailed designs suitable for manufacturing.
* Produce 2D manufacturing drawings in line with industry standards.
* Provide support to technicians during the assembly and testing phases.
* Maintain a strong understanding of mechanical principles and design techniques.
Key Requirements:
* HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Proven experience with 3D CAD software.
* Solid understanding of various materials and manufacturing processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions for complex engineering challenges.
* Familiarity with industry-standard drafting practices and principles.
* Excellent communication skills, both technical and project-related, with the ability to engage effectively with all stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in designing fixtures and machinery.
* Knowledge of CE marking processes.
