SEND Primary & Secondary Teaching Assistant - Lewisham
We are seeking exceptional SEND Primary & Secondary Teaching Assistants in Lewisham, London, who have experience supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate individuals who are proactive and can effectively support students with SEND, particularly those with autism and complex needs. As an SEND Teaching Assistant , you will be expected to do the following:
Support pupils with ADHD, Autism and Complex Needs
Provide 1:1 support to primary students
Provide Personal Care and assist with Moving & Handling when necessary
Ensuring school rules are adhered to
Working with primary & secondary students with mixed abilities including SEND
Offering support and empathy to children requiring assistance
Reporting health and safety issues on-site to the maintenance team to resolve
Communicating effectively with teachers/children about any concerns or issues
Risk assessing the environment and responding accordingly
Observing behaviour, intervening, and addressing when necessary, reporting any safeguarding issues through the correct channelsThis is an opportunity to join a stable school and develop the progress of pupils. SEND Primary TA - Job Responsibilities
Make sure that the pupils you support can engage in learning and stay on task during the lesson or activity
Support the social and emotional development of pupils, reporting any issues when required
Ensuring the child is supervised on a constant basis during school hours
