Job Title: Assistant/Intermediate Estimator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £30,000 - £57,000 (DOE)

We are currently seeking an Assistant or Intermediate Estimator with groundworks experience to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Responsibilities:

* Estimating Support: Assist in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for civil engineering and groundworks projects.

* Tendering: Support the tendering process, including helping prepare bid documentation and liaising with clients and subcontractors.

* Cost Analysis: Assist in analyzing project specifications, drawings, and contract terms to develop cost estimates and budgets.

* Client Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are understood and supported throughout the bidding process.

* Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to contribute to accurate and competitive estimates.

* Team Collaboration: Work closely with the senior estimating team and project management to ensure smooth project handovers and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

* Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of reports and summaries for senior management, outlining potential risks, opportunities, and recommendations.

Requirements:

* Some experience as an Estimator, preferably within the civil engineering and groundworks sector.

* Understanding of groundworks and civil engineering projects.

* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

* Good communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.

* Familiarity with estimating software and tools is a plus.

* Must live locally or within a commutable distance to Cambridge.
