Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Havant
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Job Type: Full-timeWe are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who is passionate about ensuring top-notch quality in mechanical and electrical components. This role involves liaising with suppliers and internal teams to meet exacting quality standards. Join our innovative manufacturing team and contribute to exciting projects that make a real impact.

Day to day of the role:

Maintain and continuously improve our Goods Inwards Inspection process to drive excellence.
Perform first-off validations against drawings and test specifications for new or modified parts, ensuring precision.
Create clear and concise Incident Discrepancy Reports (IDR) and Supplier Investigation Reports (SIR) to keep all stakeholders informed.
Efficiently maintain and store 1st off Golden samples.
Prepare and manage SIRs for non-conforming parts and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to agree on product dispositions and provide insights on non-conforming products.
Determine and drive inspection requirements back to suppliers to minimise workload and optimise inspections.
Track and analyse inspection items using D365 to reduce non-conformances and ensure quality control.
Refine and optimise Supplier Quality processes and Material Control Document workflows.
Ensure new parts meet design specifications and are automation-ready through conformity checks.
Participate in supplier component audits as per schedule to support audit processes.
Oversee programming and calibration of measuring equipment, ensuring up-to-date software and proper labelling.
Leverage D365 for continuous improvement of processes and ensure transactions are clear, accurate, and timely.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer role or similar position.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical component quality standards.
Proficiency in using D365 or similar systems for tracking and analysis.
Experience in managing Goods Inwards Inspection processes.
Ability to create and manage detailed reports such as IDR and SIR.
Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Experience in conducting supplier audits and managing quality control equipment.
