Job Description
Mechanical Assembler
Permanent Staff | Bedford
The Company
An international engineering company that specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced breaking systems.
The Role
The Mechanical Assembler will assemble component parts to make up finished assemblies in compliance with in house and customer specifications.
The work will include the following:
Assemble and test products to specification, referring to working instructions and drawings, using air gun and spanners, paying particular attention to cleanliness of parts.
Ensure required standards of safety are adhered to and good housekeeping is maintained in the work areas.
Check kit for correct parts and refer to stores or supervision over any discrepancies.
Operate overhead travelling gantry crane and provide correct slinging procedure to load and transport large items.
Report to supervision any error found in component parts and problems leading to difficulty in assembly.
The Candidate

1. Previous experience within a similar assembly environment
2. Previous Mechanical Assembler experience
3. Working to engineering drawings
4. Experience with building assemblies
5. Good manual dexterity
