Accounts Payable Clerk
This role will suit someone happy to work in a fast pace finance team which requires strong attention to detail. - preference for candidates who have exposure to chemical manufacturing industry

Role Description: The role of the Accounts Payable Clerk is to provide administrative support to the finance team, ensuring the accurate processing of supplier invoices to meet the company’s financial obligations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple currencies, including dollars, euros, and pounds. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
* Capturing all supplier invoices into Sage, matching against POs.
* Performing reconciliations of Sage against supplier statements.
* Reviewing open POs and Aged Payables for outstanding supplier invoices.
* Allocating payments from the bank accounts to supplier accounts on Sage.
* Managing the AP inbox and answering phone calls as required.
* Escalating disputes on supplier invoices and applying credit notes against disputed invoices.
* Maintaining supplier records on Sage.
* Completing ONS surveys and other external reports.
* Alerting the Finance Manager to requests from suppliers for Direct Debit payments.
Experience We Are Seeking:
* Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
* Experience working with multiple currencies, including dollars, euros, and pounds.
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritize and work independently.
* Strong communication skills, enabling effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
* Professional and polite demeanor, able to handle conflict and pressure.
* Proficiency in using databases, Excel (intermediate), Word, and Sage accounts.
* Self-motivated, able to multi-task and identify areas for improvement.
* Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills and knowledge.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in a high-performing finance team.
* Experience using Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word.
* AAT Qualification.
