The Position

Galliard Estate Management (GEM), part of Galliard Homes, are looking to recruit a number of Technical Service Engineers on either a full-time or part-time basis. The Technical Service Engineers will work across various developments in London, operating as a mobile team with a base office in Canary Wharf, London.

A Technical Services Engineer forms part of the wider Technical Services team and delivers a range of planned preventative maintenance activities offered by GEM to residential sites under GEM management.

Duties include:

Perform routine inspections and testing of fire doors in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 and best practice as defined under the FDIS Inspectors accreditation.
Carry out routine resting of related fire safety systems including fire detection systems, AOV, and emergency lights, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
Conduct water hygiene activities including temperature checks, tank inspections, and outlet flushing.
Execute service, maintenance, and repair tasks as directed by management, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and in line with procedures and RAMS.
Assist in the compilation of specifications for additional, quoted, and remedial works which may arise.
Maintain comprehensive electronic records, follow the planned preventative maintenance schedule, and utilise the CAFM platform for job assignments and reporting.
Complete and submit inspection report sheets timely, and update asset schedules and tagging as needed.
Support inventory management of materials, tools, and equipment, and report any safety or risk-related findings promptly.
Ensure compliance with GEM policies, procedures, risk assessments, and method statements, and participate in required training and certification programs.
Engage in continuous professional development and attend internal training sessions and toolbox talks.
participate in sample work inspections, as may be deliverable by the management team.
Meet performance targets for project delivery, billable hours, and key performance indicators, and stay up to date with legislation and industry best practice.
Act as a point of contact for clients, fostering positive relationships and promoting the company's reputation.

The Person

The Technical Services Engineer will have previous experience working on residential estates in a concierge, resident services, maintenance, or a technical function. They will also meet the below criteria:

Essential:

Previous experience within an Estate Management, Property Management, or Building Management role or similar.
An understanding of testing building safety systems such as emergency lighting, fire alarms, AOV's etc.
An awareness of fire door inspections and general understanding of fire safety within residential buildings.
Be of a polite and professional demeanour.
Smart and presentable appearance.
Must have the ability to complete the required vocational training courses including FDIS Fire Door Inspectors certification.

Desirable:

FDIS Fire Door Inspector Qualified.
Previous experience operating as a Fire Door Inspector or experience inspecting fire safety systems.
