Job Title: 2nd Line IT Support Technician

Location: Portsmouth, UK

Salary: Up to £35,000

Are you a IT support technician with a passion for technology and a desire to work in a dynamic and exciting environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for a friendly and knowledgeable 2nd Line IT Support Technician to join our supportive IT team. In this role, you will help our staff with their IT needs, focusing on more advanced and escalated issues while also lending a hand with 1st line support when needed.

As a 2nd line support technician, you will have the opportunity to learn and work with cutting-edge technologies to provide the best solutions their internal IT function. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of their IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide IT Support: Offer face-to-face and remote support to our staff, focusing on more advanced and escalated technical issues.

- Manage Tickets: Handle a variety of support requests, ensuring all documentation is clear and keeping staff informed throughout the resolution process.

- Collaborate on Projects: Work with the service desk manager to improve our IT systems and infrastructure, taking on projects that interest you.

- Team Support: Assist the IT team with daily tasks, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

- Ensure Great Service: Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a positive and friendly approach in all interactions with staff.

- Flexible Assistance: Help with 1st line support tasks when needed, adapting to changes in workload and team needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

- IT Support Experience: Previous experience in an IT support role, especially in a 2nd line capacity.

- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Windows Server 2016 and 2022 in a hybrid environment, Office 365 (Intune, SharePoint, and Exchange), and desktop hardware.

- Networking Knowledge: Understanding of networking, including firewall configuration, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS troubleshooting.

- Communication: Strong communication and organizational skills, with a passion for helping others and providing great service.

- Desire to Learn: Enthusiasm for learning and improving your skills, with a proactive approach to staying up-to-date with new technologies.

- Bonus Skills: Experience with VMware is a plus but not required.
