Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for our client in Wolverhampton as a Systems Quality Engineer. The role is a permanent role for the right candidate.

Hours of work:

Monday – Thursday - 8:30am - 4pm

Friday 8:30am - 1:30pm

Pay

Between £35,000 and £40,000 per annum dependent on experience

Description and key responsibilities as a Systems Quality Engineer:

Ensure compliance with QMS and on-going maintenance, ensuring adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF16949/ISO9001) .
Oversee ongoing compliance to business approvals and support maintaining accreditations.
Maintain and update the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures to ensure they align with business needs and continuous improvement activities.
Support with visibility and promotion of the QMS including its accessibility and use.
Analyse current and future procedural requirements for the business (Statutory, Customer Requirements etc).
Support with development of audit programs in accordance with business and customer requirements.
Lead and conduct audits as part of the internal program, including system, product/process and layered process audits to assess compliance against quality standards.
Write audit reports and NCR’s and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely responsiveness.
Support with hosting 2nd & 3rd Party audits.
Assist in training and guiding other auditors.
Provide training on quality issues and business processes.
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to prevent non-conformities, relating to system issues.
Data collection activities to define issues and drive improvements.
Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues using proven methodology such as 8D and supporting tools.
Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
Promote techniques like Six-Sigma and Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing) for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and skills required as a Systems Quality Engineer:

A professional qualification
Proven experience in fast paced manufacturing organisation.
Proven quality system experience and ownership.
Proven audit experience, good working knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA standards.
Lead auditor in automotive disciplines.
Proven knowledge of core tools.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
Awareness of six sigma techniques beneficial.
Throrough understanding of quality system development and maintenance.
Thorough understanding of auditing with a process and risk based approach.
Demonstratbale experince of leasing QMS activites and championing any associatede NCR’s and improvements.
IATF Lead Auditor (VDA beneficial).
