Job Role: Legal Cashier
Location: Sunderland
Company: A firm that has been trusted for generations to provide an efficient service to both private and business clients.
Key Duties & Responsibilities include:
• Processing of Client & Office cheques & distribution to Fee Earners
• Identifying, allocating and posting incoming electronic & manual receipts
• Banking of Office & Client Account monies
• Processing Direct Debits & Standing Orders
• Digital posting Nominal entries
• Checking and Endorsing ‘Completion Statements’
• Processing the completion of property transaction, ensuring all funds have been received and correctly accounted
• Processing and sending CHAPS, BACS & Faster Payments
• Posting of Client invoices and disbursements onto the ledgers accurately
• Posting of Client to Office transfers on the system and at the bank, also inter account transfers when necessary
• Ensuring compliance of all transactions with Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Handling Petty Cash
• Dealing with Fee Earner queries
Key requirements:
• Good knowledge of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
• Excellent attention to detail & accuracy
• Prior legal cashiering experience within a law firm, preferably at least 1 years’ experience
• Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong IT skills
• Friendly and approachable with a professional manner
