Job Description: Quality Manager

Location: Croydon

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + benefits Working

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (36.5 hours per week)

Overview: Join our client specialist of intelligent drive technology and system looking for a Quality Manager, responsible for maintaining and improving the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading the Quality Team. This office-based role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth and contribution to our commitment to quality excellence.

Core Responsibilities

•Maintain and improve the Quality Management System for Croydon, off-site personnel, and field service.

•Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, RISQS, and RISAS standards.

•Coordinate customer and third-party audits, ensuring continued approvals for the company.

•Supervise the Quality Team and maintain robust inspection processes for incoming and outgoing goods.

•Perform supplier assessments and audits, developing the supply chain and establishing a supplier rating system.

•Create and manage the internal audit plan, ensuring adequate numbers of internal auditors.

•Review and approve requirements, specifications, and documents from a quality perspective.

•Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system for internal and external NCRs.

•Establish a "right-first-time" ethic to reduce non-quality costs and improve OPEX.

•Provide Quality System Awareness training and develop the quality ethic within the company.

•Stay abreast of industry and quality regulations and standards.

•Serve as the VTGB Quality point of contact for all enquiries and reportable KPIs.

•Authorize stopping the process or product provision if quality or safety requirements are not met.

•Ensure the intranet Company Management System (CMS) and roXtra are maintained.

•Manage the calibration register to ensure all assets are within calibration at all times.

•Manage and report on all direct reports appropriately.

•Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Experience, Education & Specific Skills

•Proven experience in Quality Management within an engineering environment.

•Chartered Quality professional status.

•Lead auditor qualified with experience in planning and scheduling internal audits.

•Good technical background with knowledge of engineering standards.

•Proficient in ERP systems and general IT skills.

•Strong analytical abilities, including costing, finance, and performance KPIs.

•Excellent leadership and influencing skills.

•Excellent communication skills at all levels, with fluency in technical and conversational English.

•Strong team and personnel management skills.

•Excellent customer-facing skills.

•Persistent, adaptable, and commercially aware of the impact of poor quality on contracts.

•Understanding of Operational Excellence (OPEX).

Additional Requirements:

•Ability to work in various and sometimes challenging environments.

•Willingness to engage constructively with diverse teams and view challenges as growth opportunities.

•New employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting within the company.

Package Details

•Contract: Permanent, Full time, Office based

•Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm; Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm (36.5 hours per week)

• Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

•Bonus: Annual bonus (pro rata on the year of joining)

•Holidays: 25 days holiday (pro rata on joining)

•Pension: 3% employee contribution and 6% employer contribution
