Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
Position Type: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (30-minute lunch break); Friday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (no lunch break)

The Role:
The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who is energetic, enthusiastic, and ready to take on the challenge of developing new product designs from concept through to production. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a range of high-quality projects, working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design: Lead the mechanical design process for both new and existing products, ensuring designs meet high standards of quality and efficiency.
Product Development: Manage the development and cost analysis of products, with an emphasis on life-cycle management.
CAD Modelling: Create and refine CAD models and technical drawings, adhering to industry standards at various levels, including component, sub-system, and system.
Role Requirements:
Essential:
A degree in Engineering
At least 3 years of industrial experience in mechanical design within engineering systems.
Proven success in cost-reduction activities related to design.
Experience in design for manufacture and assembly.
Proficiency in 3D CAD, particularly SolidWorks, with a strong understanding of industry-standard drawing practices.
Desirable:
A passion for developing innovative engineering solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
A creative and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of post-process treatments and robust Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
Industry experience in a similar role.
