Solutions Architect
*Solution Architect - 6-month contract (Inside IR35) - £600-700 per day (DOE) - Leatherhead*
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join a client based in Leatherhead on a temporary contract. The primary project will be a migration of apps (and possibly later users) from M365 tenant to another. The right candidate will need to be technically strong and understand these areas, whilst owning the solution and working alongside the Project managers to drive delivery.
Responsibilities and deliverables:
- Own solution architecture and technical design within assigned programmes of work, ensuring designs conform to Enterprise Architecture principles and standards.
- Support design activities across IT, ensuring conformance with the Technical Design Authority governance process.
- Provide technical and architectural guidance to programmes and projects, balancing architectural rigor with delivery pragmatism.
- Provide architecture governance for design activities, including security and data architecture considerations.
- Develop, utilise and maintain architecture artefacts (Architecture Definition Documents, Solution Building Blocks, Architecture Requirements Specifications, ArchiMate models) within the Architecture Repository.
- Develop and present business cases and cost-benefit analyses for solution options to support investment decisions.
- Maintain awareness of internal and external compliance requirements (eg data protection, ISO 19650/BIM, sector regulation) and their application to solution designs.
- Contribute to maturing and promoting the Enterprise Architecture capability, including mentoring and knowledge-sharing across the architecture community.
Key skills and experience:
- Demonstrable knowledge of TOGAF (or a comparable architecture framework) including the Architecture Development Method (ADM), the Enterprise Continuum and Architecture Governance.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the ArchiMate modelling language and its core viewpoints.
- Comprehensive knowledge of solution architecture and technical design within an enterprise environment.
- Working knowledge of business case development and cost-benefit analysis for technology investment decisions.
- Awareness of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (eg UK GDPR/data protection, ISO 19650/BIM) and their implications for solution design.
- Broad knowledge and experience of systems and their usage across the application, data, infrastructure and integration domains.
- TOGAF Foundation certification (9.2 or the current TOGAF Standard) required; TOGAF Practitioner/Certified desirable.
- ArchiMate Foundation certification required; ArchiMate Certified desirable.
- Experience integrating and configuring COTS and cloud systems within a predominantly Microsoft environment.
- Working knowledge of security and data architecture principles, and their application to solution design.
- Ability to balance architectural rigor with delivery pragmatism, negotiating trade-offs with delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
