An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sub Agent to join a growing civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure, roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities and renewable energy projects across Scotland.
The successful Sub Agent will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Site Agents, Project Managers and site teams, the Sub Agent will oversee day-to-day operations while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of civil engineering projects.
Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in the day-to-day management of site operations.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Supervise site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
Monitor project progress against programme and identify potential delays.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.
Prepare RAMS, permits and site documentation where required.
Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
Coordinate plant, labour and materials to maximise productivity.
Liaise with clients, consultants, utility providers and local authorities.
Assist with commercial awareness by monitoring costs, recording variations and supporting valuations.
Produce daily site records, progress reports and programme updates.
Resolve technical and operational issues quickly and effectively.
Promote a positive safety culture across all project activities.
Requirements
Essential
Previous experience as a Sub Agent, Section Engineer or Senior Site Engineer within the civil engineering sector.
Experience delivering infrastructure, roads, utilities, drainage or earthworks projects.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
SMSTS or SSSTS.
CSCS Card.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering.
Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor qualification.
First Aid at Work.
NRSWA Supervisor.
Experience working on renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
