The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Sub Agent to join their growing project team in North Wales, supporting the delivery of the Snowdonia Visual Impact Provision (VIP) Project. This nationally significant infrastructure scheme is transforming the landscape of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park by undergrounding sections of the existing electricity network, helping to preserve one of the UK's most iconic natural environments while delivering critical infrastructure improvements.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a defined section of works, leading construction teams and coordinating subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Working within a collaborative project environment, you'll play a key role in driving programme performance, supporting commercial objectives, and developing junior engineers, contributing to the successful delivery of this landmark project through to December 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of your allocated section of works, ensuring safe and efficient construction activities.
Manage and coordinate subcontractors, including chairing progress meetings and monitoring performance.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Deliver works in line with programme, specification, budget, and commercial objectives.
Produce, review, and maintain rolling three-month look-ahead programmes.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement recovery plans where necessary.
Review labour, plant, and material usage, addressing variances to maximise productivity.
Ensure all temporary works are properly planned, approved, and implemented.
Maintain accurate site records and provide regular progress updates to senior management.
Build effective working relationships with clients, designers, stakeholders, and the wider project team.
Support, mentor, and develop Site Engineers and junior team members.About You You'll be an experienced construction professional with the confidence to lead teams and deliver complex packages of work in a fast-paced project environment.
Essential
Experience working as a Sub Agent or in a senior site engineering role.
Strong understanding of construction project delivery and site management.
Proven experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
Sound knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Ability to interpret construction programmes and manage project timescales.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.Desirable
CSCS Management Card.
Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
Experience using project management and document control systems.
Commercial awareness with experience supporting cost control and reporting.
Experience delivering major infrastructure or complex civil engineering projects.Working Environment Based on site in Minffordd, Gwynedd, you'll work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary delivery team alongside engineers, subcontractors, clients, designers, and key stakeholders. The role requires a visible leadership presence on site, proactively driving safety, quality, and productivity while ensuring construction activities are delivered efficiently and collaboratively.
