Skills Coach

Are you passionate about developing people and helping them achieve their career ambitions?

We're looking for an enthusiastic Skills Coach to join our Apprenticeships team. This is an exciting opportunity to support apprentices and adult learners throughout their learning journey, delivering engaging teaching, coaching and assessment that helps them achieve their qualifications and progress in their careers.

Whether you're an experienced Skills Coach or an industry professional looking to move into education, we'll support you to make a real difference by combining your sector expertise with high-quality coaching and learner support.

What you'll do:

Manage and support a caseload of apprentices and learners throughout their programme.

Deliver engaging teaching, coaching and assessment using a range of learning methods and digital technologies.

Plan learning that meets individual learner and employer needs, both in the workplace and remotely.

Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and implement timely interventions where required.

Prepare apprentices for End Point Assessment, ensuring they successfully complete all elements of their programme.

Maintain accurate learner records and evidence of off-the-job training in line with DfE funding requirements.

Build strong relationships with employers, carrying out regular progress reviews and ensuring training meets workplace needs.

Support learners with additional learning needs, ensuring appropriate support plans and compliance requirements are in place.

Contribute to quality improvement activities, CPD and standardisation to maintain outstanding delivery.

What we're looking for:

Relevant industry experience and knowledge within your occupational sector.

A recognised teaching or assessing qualification (such as PTLLS, A1, TAQA or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one where appropriate.

Excellent communication and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.

Experience of supporting apprentices or adult learners, or the ability to transfer relevant industry experience into education.

A commitment to delivering an outstanding learner and employer experience.

Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules or e-portfolio systems would be advantageous.

A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.

This role is college and remote based, with travel required to visit learners and employers as part of your caseload.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.

Please note that this vacancy may close before the published closing date if sufficient applications are received, so if you are interested, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

To apply, you must have the right to work in the UK. Please note, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
