Catch 22 are working on behalf of a prestigious client to recruit an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their Facilities team at a flagship London site in Embassy Gardens.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys a varied role, combining building maintenance, contractor management, compliance, and facilities support within a high-end corporate environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the building, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment for employees and visitors.
You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, supporting contractor activities, maintaining compliance records, and assisting with facilities operations across the site.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance
Carry out daily building inspections and maintenance checks.
Perform minor repairs to fixtures, fittings, furniture, doors, locks, lighting, and office equipment.
Undertake basic plumbing and carpentry tasks within your skill set.
Assemble and install office furniture and equipment.
Coordinate specialist repairs with external contractors.
Maintain stock levels of maintenance tools and supplies.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Conduct regular health and safety inspections.
Ensure fire safety equipment, emergency signage, and lighting remain compliant.
Identify and report hazards, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Support the delivery of a safe and compliant working environment.
Contractor Management
Act as the main point of contact for maintenance contractors.
Review and manage RAMS, permits to work, and contractor documentation.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed safely and efficiently.
Liaise with M&E and specialist service providers.
Facilities Operations
Manage maintenance requests through the helpdesk system and email.
Schedule and coordinate planned maintenance activities.
Create and maintain PPM schedules and ensure all actions are completed.
Support emergency response procedures and critical building alerts.
Assist with office events, room setups, and facilities projects.
Ensure communal areas, washrooms, tea points, reception, and breakout spaces are maintained to a high standard.
About You
We're looking for someone with:
✔ Previous experience in a Facilities Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Operative, Building Services or similar role
✔ Strong fault-finding and general maintenance skills
✔ Excellent communication and customer service skills
✔ Experience working with contractors and service providers
✔ Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
✔ Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 packages
✔ IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or higher)
✔ Manual Handling and Legionella awareness/training
