Vehicle Strip & Fit Technician – Bumpers & Doors
📍 Location: Southampton
💷 Pay: £16.09 per hour / £33,467.20 per annum
💰 Potential flexibility up to approximately £35,000 for the right candidate
⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:30
📋 Contract: Temp to permanent after 12 weeks

About the Role
We are recruiting for a skilled Vehicle Strip & Fit Technician to join a small and supportive paint team within a professional automotive operation in Southampton.
This is not a full MET Technician position. The role is specifically focused on the careful removal and refitting of vehicle bumpers and doors before and after painting.
Quality is more important than speed. You will be expected to work methodically, protect vehicle components and ensure everything is refitted accurately to a high standard.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
*
Remove and refit vehicle bumpers and doors safely and accurately.
*
Prepare vehicles for paint and refurbishment work.
*
Reassemble components correctly following painting.
*
Check alignment, fit and finish before releasing completed vehicles.
*
Identify and report damaged clips, fixings or components.
*
Follow manufacturer procedures and site safety standards.
*
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
*
Work closely with painters and other members of the small paint team.
✅ What We’re Looking For
*
Minimum NVQ Level 2, IMI Level 2 or equivalent Motor Vehicle qualification.
*
Previous strip and fit, bodyshop, accident repair, workshop or main dealer experience.
*
Confident removing and refitting bumpers and doors.
*
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
*
Good understanding of basic vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
*
Reliable, careful and able to work as part of a small team.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
Candidates must provide their own tools.
🎓 Training and Development
A recognised Level 2 Motor Vehicle qualification is required so that the successful candidate can be enrolled onto the company’s BMW High Voltage training.
This provides an excellent opportunity to develop your qualifications and gain valuable experience working within a BMW automotive environment.
