MERITUS are recruiting for a Production Manager to join a leading Aerospace Manufacturing business, overseeing production operations, driving manufacturing performance and leading continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing facility.

PRODUCTION MANAGER | UP TO £62,000 | EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE | SOUTHAMPTON

We're looking for an experienced Production Manager with a background in aerospace or regulated manufacturing to lead production operations, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, you'll be responsible for driving operational performance, improving productivity, managing production teams and ensuring customer requirements are delivered On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) whilst maintaining compliance with AS9100 standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day production operations across the manufacturing facility.
  • Manage production teams to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Work closely with Engineering to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and support internal and external audits.
  • Monitor production performance, resolving manufacturing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate production schedules with Supply Chain and Planning teams to meet customer demand.
  • Develop and mentor production personnel, fostering a high-performance manufacturing culture.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Background within aerospace or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and production performance metrics.
  • Experience managing production teams and driving operational improvements.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement, OEE and TPM.
  • Understanding of manufacturing engineering principles and production planning.
  • Project management experience.
