Are you an experienced Quality Controller or QA Technician looking to join a successful, fast-paced food manufacturer where quality is genuinely valued?

We are recruiting for an established manufacturer supplying high-quality chilled products to major customers across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation within its market and is continuing to invest in its people, processes and technical standards.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a knowledgeable and supportive Technical team in a hands-on role where you will have real responsibility for maintaining food safety, legality and product quality across the site.

You will work closely with Production, Hygiene and Technical colleagues, helping to drive standards, resolve issues and ensure every product leaving the factory meets both customer and company expectations.

The Role

As Quality Controller, you will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the factory, acting as a visible quality presence on the production floor.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Completing quality, food-safety and process checks throughout production

* Monitoring product temperatures, weights, specifications, packaging and label accuracy

* Carrying out GMP, hygiene and housekeeping inspections

* Ensuring CCPs and other critical controls are monitored correctly

* Checking raw materials, finished products and production documentation

* Identifying, recording and escalating non-conformances

* Supporting investigations into quality issues and customer complaints

* Placing products on hold where required and helping to implement corrective actions

* Verifying traceability, date coding and allergen controls

* Supporting internal audits, factory inspections and customer visits

* Working closely with Production teams to improve standards and prevent repeat issues

* Ensuring all quality records are accurate, complete and submitted on time

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, observant and comfortable challenging standards when something is not right.

You will ideally have:

* Previous experience as a Quality Controller, QA Technician or Quality Assurance Assistant within food manufacturing

* A good understanding of food safety, HACCP and GMP requirements

* Strong attention to detail

* The confidence to communicate with people at all levels

* A proactive approach to problem-solving

* The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy manufacturing environment

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Basic computer and documentation skills

Experience within seafood, fish, meat, poultry, ready meals or another chilled food environment would be particularly beneficial.

Why Apply?

This is more than just a routine checking role. You will be joining a well-established manufacturer where the Quality team has an important voice within the business.

You can expect:

* A permanent role with a stable and successful food manufacturer

* A varied position with genuine responsibility

* Support from an experienced Technical and Quality team

* Full training and ongoing development

* Opportunities to broaden your food-safety and auditing knowledge

* The chance to progress within the wider Technical function

* Competitive salary and company benefits
